Please allow me to try to set the record straight if I may.
Patriot Guard Riders is NOT all about bikes, although bikes are a big part of it. It's about veterans and private citizens showing respect for those who have served keeping this great nation free.
On a recent Mission I was at the cemetery paying my respects to a hero and as I stood in the flag line overlooking all those grave markers I remember thinking, “We live in the land of the free, but what a price we have paid for that freedom. Yes we are free but the price for our freedom was HUGE.” What I am trying to say is that PGR is about people, God fearing, America loving people, doing whatever they can, whatever way they can, to show those who serve and their families that, yes, we are a grateful nation.
I am pretty sure that I speak for just about everyone associated with PGR when I say that it does not matter if you walk, run, ride a bike, ride a horse, drive a jeep or a tank, your presence is not only welcome but NEEDED for our missions. We were all new members once, showing up at our first Mission not knowing where to go or what to do when we got there but I quickly realized that, hey, we were not there to impress each other. We were there for the heroes and their families so just because you don’t ride a bike or you aren't a veteran or active duty, PLEASE don’t let that keep you away. There is always room for one more patriot in the flag line.
